Who We Are: The Collective Behind the Movement
Our Foundation
The Gippsland Social Enterprise Collective (GSEC) is an initiative of Social Enterprise Network Victoria (SENVIC), established in 2018 to strengthen the foundations of Victoria’s social enterprise ecosystem. Rooted in collaboration and community-led action, GSEC exists to connect, amplify, and empower social enterprises and purpose-driven organisations across the Gippsland region.
We believe in a thriving, inclusive, and regenerative regional economy — one where local enterprises create measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial sustainability. Through education, storytelling, and partnership-building, GSEC helps foster a supportive environment for new and existing social ventures to grow and thrive.
Local Representation
GSEC is proudly made up of representatives from across the six Gippsland shires — Baw Baw, Bass Coast, South Gippsland, Latrobe, Wellington, and East Gippsland.
Together, this network acts as a regional voice for social innovation, building partnerships that link local enterprises with statewide and national opportunities. Our members share knowledge, champion local initiatives, and collaborate to advance the social economy movement across Gippsland and beyond.
